These selections are classics from various decades and are mainly for ordinary people trying to get a reasonably clear picture of the world, from a Left point of view. We also offer more advanced reading for those who wish it.

Reading these books from so many accomplished authors and thinkers will be very enlightening. From The Working Class Majority, for instance, a reader could learn that the economic “middle class” refers to either professionals, small business owners, or middle managers in large companies, which means that most Americans are working class people, and from this fact one may notice that said working class Americans do not have their own political party. Which is an interesting thing to contemplate.

And a reader of Inventing America will learn that the Founders never intended America to be a democracy. Combining these insights from these two books may suggest a long continuum in American political life. In fact, many of these books will dovetail in various ways.
